Healthcare design is a steadily growing specialization that requires knowledge beyond regular design guidelines. From facilities planning to finish materials, healthcare design is formed around hospital operations, the equipment that is used, and most important patient health. This means that while design responds to the logistics of hospital operations, and installation and operation of equipment, it must do so with care and desire that provides patients with safety, health, and visual attractiveness.
While achieving these goals several other factors are:

Building’s opportunities/limitations on current services; mechanical, electrical information systems, emergency power, plumbing, fire alarm and medical gas;
Define code deficiencies for existing facilities;
Defining opportunities/limitations for growth and expansion;
Develop Master Facility program based on Strategic Demand Analysis and Guiding Principles;
Develop site and building concepts plans that address both short term and long term strategic goals
